Greater Dunnellon Historical Society

Dunnellon Poetry Society

The Dunnellon Poetry Society meets for a poetry open mike from 2 to 4 p.m. The meeting is open to all poets and other lovers of poetry. Participants are asked to share their own original poetry and to read as many as three pages of poems.  Readers sign up at the beginning of the meeting and read in the order of signup. A requested donation of $3 per person will be contributed to the Greater Dunnellon Historical Society.

The poetry host is Bob Wright, who has been writing and presenting his own poetry for some 30 years. He is one of the founders of the Woodstock Poetry Society, in Woodstock, New York, and was active for many years in several other poetry groups in upstate New York. Bob has been a featured reader at local colleges, bookstores, libraries, and cultural centers, and he has conducted poetry workshops at several colleges and summer camps.
